Merry Christmas

I love Christmas!
I love decorating the house, getting a Christmas tree, being around family and drinking eggnog. My godson who also loves drinking eggnog asked me to make eggnog cupcakes. Looking in the Internet for a eggnog recipe I found one that was easy to make, so I checked if I had all the ingredients I would need and I was missing the number one thing I needed the EGGNOG. So my godson and I went to the store. He was looking forward to the eggnog cupcakes. Eggnog cupcakes had to be decorated with Christmas sprinkles.

Birthday Cupcakes

These cupcakes were made with lots of love. It was my sister's birthday. Her theme colors were a dark pink with black. She loves chocolate, so all of her cupcakes were chocolate, moist and delicious. Topping them all with dark pink butter cream. I used black fondant for the bottom of the Jumbo cupcake. I must say after displaying the cupcakes they looked beautiful. My sister loved her cupcakes.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER!

Nerd Wars!

Nerd Wars VIP Premiere Party

When the film Nerd Wars had its premiere in Hollywood, my cupcakes got a VIP seat! The director, Willie Pena,  contacted me to make some cupcakes for the after party, so I whipped up these tasty treats for the cast and crew to enjoy.

It was fun making these nerdy cupcakes with edible glasses. The glasses were made from black fondant. I wanted to add some color, so I made blue butter cream to decorate the cupcakes - just to make them different, for them to stand out. I made two different types of cupcakes, chocolate and yellow cake. An inside source informed me that the cupcakes went like hotcakes. Awesome!

Many thanks to Nerd Wars for making Have Your Cupcake and Eat It Too part of their big premiere.

Thanksgiving Cupcakes

These Thanksgiving cupcakes were a special order for children who are chocolate lovers. I made chocolate cake with butter cream, chocolate sprinkles, and chocolate chips. I was thinking maybe it was too much chocolate, but is there such thing as too much chocolate - especially to children that love it! I decorated some with colorful sprinkle leaves. I really enjoyed making these cupcakes because I knew I was going to make numerous children very, very happy.

Pumpkin Explosion

Thinking of treats for Thanksgiving - but my family is tired of pumpkin pie. Let them eat cake this time!
We wanted something different. I found a great pumpkin cake recipe and I turned it into Plump Pumpkin Cupcakes. They smelled and look great, nice and fluffy -  but how did they taste? I left the judging to my boys:
"Amazing!" - my son
"Mouthwatering!" - my godson
"Delicious! I want more." - my nephew

...and my youngest nephew, with his frosting mustache:
"Yummy! Yummy! My tummy wants more..."

I think we can safely say that these new cupcakes were a hit. One of my nephews named them Pumpkin Explosion!

Sweet Jewelry

I was recently hired to cater a jewelry party -- think of a Tupperware party, but with rings instead of plastic containers!  I created these buttercream cupcakes with a yellow cake base and topped them with pink buttercream and fondant in the shape of rings.

Happy Birthday, Giant Cupcakes!

Click picture above for a larger version!
These giant cupcakes were created for a 14-year-old boy's birthday party. One is chocolate, the other strawberry. We put seven candles in each cupcake to add up to his 14 years.

Each giant cupcake serves approximately 6 people. This was the first time I had baked them, and they turned out to be both beautiful and delicious!  I plan to make more giant cupcakes in the future.

Fati's Birthday Cake

This cake was created for a birthday party. The client had requested a two-layer cake with flowers. I made the top layer chocolate and the bottom layer yellow. She also likes cupcakes, so I made her a bonus layer of mini-cupcakes placed on the top of the cake.
Fati likes bright colors, and her birthday was in the summertime, so I used sunshine yellow, bright orange, and light green.

To create the flowers and circles on the side of the cake, I used fondant and cutouts.

Fati loved the combination of the cake and the cupcakes. It was a big hit with the kids and adults alike!
